What would you rather do, spend more time with your family or at work?
This is, I hope, an easy question to answer. And, I hope, the answer is the same for everyone.
More time with family.
We all deal with the same limitation when it comes to time. There is only a finite amount of it. Looking back on it will not give you more in the future, but it might help you to better prioritize your time.
Don’t sacrifice your time with your family, especially the kids. They grow up so fast and you can’t get that time back.
I can’t tell you how to fix your time management problems. I can, however, tell you that you need to eliminate the sacrifice of time with your children.
Is it really more important?
Ask yourself if what you are doing, because of a perceived importance, is really more important than time with your kids. Better yet say it outloud. Does it sound rediculous?
Of course, we have things we have to get done and our multi-tasking culture encourages this behavior. The problem is we tend to make this a habit and it becomes easy to put our children aside.
